NS is proud to have region and state champions return and compete in another year of track and field. Many events are available for athletes to participate in, such as the javelin throw, many races of different lengths, and the shot put just to name a few.
Carl Peel a junior at NS plans to participate in the one and two mile, and the eight hundred meter.
“Really I am going to do whatever the coaches want me to do but those are what I want to do,” said Peel.
Jennette Larsen a senior at NS is also participating in track and field for her fourth year. Larsen wants to run in the medley, the four by four, the open four, and the two-mile.
Track Competitions are approaching. Larsen and Peel both feel that they are ready to work and become better.
There are many reasons why people participate in track.
“I like running and it clears my mind,” said Peel.
“It is a sport that pushes me and is really rewarding,” said Larsen.
The track Coaches are Scott Butler, Joe Franks, and Bill Bedford.
“I think the coaches are really good and care about the people on the team,” said Larsen.
“I like them, they know what they are doing and put their effort in the ones who care,” said Peel.
The coaches and the athletes are preparing for a good year of track and field. Their season has just begun with their first meet on _____. Track competes on Wednesday the 16. Results here:
