Childhood cartoons from the past, present, and future with a memory that will be here forever. Someone’s favorite childhood cartoon can shape them into the person they are later in life.
Shows that you watch when you are young can stick with you throughout your life.
“Winnie-the-pooh is the one that I used to watch and make jokes about and it stuck with me,” sophomore Rachel Kasperson said.
Cartoons are not just for young people, but also for adults they can relate to them in many ways. And see things that might help their kids or them with things they need to learn.
“I love Bluey because I can relate sometimes to some things that happen to dad,” science teacher Bryan Holder said. “I also like the information and the lessons that they learn. I find myself saying, ‘Hey, remember where they talked about this?’”
A person’s favorite cartoon character can say a lot about them. It can show what they may like or something that they are into.
“Ben Ten is another one for me,” senior Jaden LaTomme said. “I’ve been watching it since I was a kid and just absolutely love everything about it.”
Educational cartoons are also fun. They can make something seem so boring and so much fun.
“Wild Kratts is a great learning show and you can watch it with the whole family so it’s really fun,” sophomore Holden Bailey said.
Life lessons can come from cartoon movies because they show not to be mean, what to do in hard situations and how to become a better person all along.
“Definitely a lot of life lessons I would say for some of them because it’s definitely a case of humility in the sense that you don’t need all this grand stuff,” LaTomme said.
Cartoons can help with making friends and teaching you on how to become more social.
“I want to make friends and it’s really hard to have a happy ending and sometimes it just feels like it’s not gonna come,” Kasperson said. “I mean we still go up and all of that. We’re still gonna have a happy ending. We get those when they are teenagers and kids. And I’m 16 and I still haven’t gotten mine. So just real expectations.”
There are so many cartoons that are underrated yet they are really good.
“I guess out of the ones that I’ve been watching recently there’s one called Black Clover,” LaTomme said, “which I think is pretty undrafted considering how I personally think it’s really good. But it definitely deserves a bit more recognition.”
Shows from now and 20 years ago are very different for what they show and the things that they do.
“ I’ve shown my kids, like Looney Tunes and stuff like that, and there’s a big difference between what I used to watch and what they watch now,” Holder said. “It was always dangerous and now it’s better for the kids to watch.”
