The NS boys golf team has placed fifth in most of their tournaments this year. One of the biggest threats the boys team has faced was Union. Union has been the best at golf for a long time.
“Union has a lot of their boys that practice over the off season,” golf coach Austin Hadley said. “I was talking to one of the parents that has a kid that goes to Union, and they said he would go to St George a couple of times during the winter to meet up with a swing coach.”
Many NS golfers have said that Cooper Christensen is the best golfer. He puts in the work during practice, he stays after practice to hit more, and he performs well during the tournaments.
“Cooper has better control, and he understands how the ball is going to do when he hits it, and knows where it’s going to land,” senior Logan Black said.
On September 26 NS seniors Logan Black and Tanner Kerksiek earned academic all region at the region tournament at Cove Fort.
Everyone on the golf team is hoping that when they go to state, they will be able to place better than they have been.
