Life at the Tanner house was an American favorite that began back in 1987 and lives on today. With many family members living under the same roof, uncles and friends moving in the help Danny Tanner raise his three young girls, this show has continued to rerun due to the love and quality portrayed.
The story of the Tanner family never truly ended, and it will now continue on across the globe. Having run a total of eight seasons showing the unity of the Tanner family even when life throws curve balls, Fuller House is said to be no different. With Candace Cameron Bure returning as D.J. Fuller-Tanner, and little sister, Jodie Sweetin, as Stephanie Tanner, the two have found themselves under the same roof once again after a tragic accident of D.J.’s husband Tommy. With the help of her younger sister and childhood friend, Kimmy Gibbler, played by Andrea Barber, and Kimmy’s teenage daughter, Ramona, D.J. is raising two boys with one on the way.
Rumors began to float around back in 2015 but were later confirmed by Netflix to be “in development” by April. Filming began in July under co-director, John Stamos who played Uncle Jesse Katsopolis. Filming ended in November and the new release date, February 26th, was published in December.
With plans to make special appearances, John Stamos (Jesse Katsopolis), Bob Saget (Danny Tanner) and Dave Coulier (Joey Gladstone), will not be taking the lead on this one. However, unlike Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen who altered in the part of Michelle Tanner, they still will appear from time to time. Olsen twin, Mary-Kate has announced that is has been over ten years since she took a role on camera and will not be reprising the role. Ashley first intended to take Michelle’s role but due to scheduling conflicts, the role has been left unfilled. Elizabeth Olsen, their younger sister, was also offered the role but ultimately declined. As incomplete as the story may seem, the show goes on stating that Michelle Tanner will not be present due to her success in a fashion career booming in New York.
Aside from the youngest Tanner sister, all other cast members will be returning along with a few extras. One being Danny Tanner’s new wife Teri, played by Eva LuRue. Another including Kimmy’s ex-husband, Fernando played by Juan Pablo Di Pace.
With much to be said, there will be only one way to find out just how full this Fuller House can get. So, as it is often said, it’s time to “Netflix and chill.”
