With this year’s golf season just around the corner, the eight members on the team are excited to step onto the green.
Many people say that the tryouts are pretty difficult,
“I don’t know, you go the meeting, you tell them your shirt size, and you’re on the team!” sophmore Billy Christensen
The girls have done pretty well in the past, but this year they aren’t as confident.
“Well I don’t think we will do well because we only have eight girls while other schools have like a full team,” said Christensen.
“I think it’s because it’s at the same time as softball, and many girls would much rather go play that than this,” Madsen said
There are those who have great faith in them though, “If they work hard, I guess they can take region or state,” said sophmore Garrett Christensen.
Their first practice was on March 9 at the Skyline Mountain Golf Course.
“We work on our swings and stuff, and we shotgun,” Billy Christensen said.
Many people don’t understand how the sport is played especially as a high school sport.
“We have the best person at each section go and play, then we play one on the first hole, one on the third, so we don’t catch up with each other,” Billy Christensen said.
Only having eight people on the team, where everyone makes it, there’s a lot of patience and time put into playing the sport.
