The “Area 51 Rave” will be held on November 1, at 8 P.M. and will go until 11:00 P.M. The ‘no date dance’ will be held in the commons at the NS Highschool.

The FBLA and DECA organization is selling tickets for the ‘Rave’ for $4 per person. They also have a group deal. For a group of three people it costs $9, which is a savings of $3.

“We are trying to get people to come in groups and not necessarily one on one with each other,” said vice president, Nathan Garff.

The theme of the dance is based on Area 51. The decorations will include aliens, fog machine, etc. The dance will not have any slow songs, so a dance partner won’t be needed. The recommendation for how to dress is casual, what you would normally wear around. What you wear to the dance has to follow the dress code.

“We will have super fun things going on. There’s going to be dancing. There are going to be aliens everywhere, and fog,” said Ariel Valko, FBLA and DECA student president, “The dance is basically a rave. There’s no slow songs playing. It’s always upbeat songs.”

To attend the dance, no date is needed. You can come by yourself or with a group of friends.

“It’s a no-date dance because for a lot of students here at NS, if it’s called a date dance everybody feels like they need to have a date to go, which is not always true. But for this dance it’s just going to be fun and it’s going to be lots of friends and we are just going to party.”

You can request a song to be played at the dance. The price to do so is one dollar. Once you have requested your song you get a raffle ticket. You can also just buy a raffle ticket if you don’t want to request a song. The raffle tickets will be sold at lunch all week before the dance, which will be October 28 – November 1st. The raffle tickets will then be put in a drawing for prizes.

“With the raffle tickets, you will be entered into a drawing. The prizes are a bluetooth speaker, a VR headset, also some school store apparel, which is kind of to promote the organization and get kids to get out and have some fun,” said FBLA and DECA organization leader, Justin Morley.
